MEET REV. EDMONDS
I am a Mother, Preacher, Teacher, and Entrepreneur.
God called me into the ministry on July 4, 1998. I entered the ministry at Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church in Waukegan, IL, under the leadership of the late Pastor Walter D. Parks and Mother Yvonne Parks, late Bishop Robert & Beverly Thomas. Licensed to preach by Elder W.D. Davis in October 1998 and admitted into the 1999 Class of Admission in the 4th District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. During this time, I taught students in the church's after-school tutoring program and served on the YPD committee. Equally as important, I served on Trinity's ministerial staff under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Reginald Blount, Bishop Philip R. & Joan Cousin. My leadership experience entailed serving as Coordinator of Trinity's women ministry, Daughters of Destiny, teaching bible studies, Sunday morning church school, and collaborated with the Girl Scouts of America’s Black Expression program. Bishop Philip R. Cousin ordained me on October 12, 2000.
Moreover, I worked with Pastor John and Louise Hurst to inaugurate the Thomas Memorial, Women on the Rise, women ministry, where I served as Coordinator. As well as serving on the ministerial team as Director of Youth Ministry at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Glencoe, IL, under the leadership of the late Pastor Donald and Edwina Harwell, Elder Clarence Robinson. Additionally, I served under the leadership of Pastor Pierre Edmonds, Elder Albert Tyson at Eternal Flame A.M.E Church.
I joined the ministerial staff at First A.M.E Church under the leadership of 4th District Bishop John and Cecil Bryant, Pastor Emmanuel and Mary Vaugh, Bishop Anne Henning-Byfield (previous Elder), Pastor Dr. Virgil, and Teresa Woods. I served as Coordinator for the Youth of Distinction Etiquette Program, First Church WMS Worship Director, Indiana 4th District WMS Conference Worship Director, a tutor in the Boys and Girls to Mend Program, Community and Faith Initiatives, and Prevent Indiana Child Abuse leadership committees. Simultaneously, I served on the 18th Annual Quadrennial Conference leadership committee as Indiana WMS Conference Worship Director. The Quadrennial Conference’s initiative aimed to eradicate water scarcity in Haiti and Liberia. Lastly, I became a member of Gary’s Interfaith Power Pool Ministry under the leadership of the late Maurice Sr. and Jean Preston.
In Addition, I earned a master's degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. I am a contributing author, keynote speaker, prayer leader and workshop presenter.
